However, like his team provided little attacking impetus after the break. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Carragher: 7.0 –</b> A super goal-line clearance in the first half looked to have saved his side but it served to merely delay the inevitable. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Skrtel: 6.0 -</b> Not a commanding display and found Drogba a tough opponent. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Aurelio: 6.5 -</b> The left-back has impressed in recent weeks but couldn't maintain his recent form.  <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Kuyt: 6.0 –</b> Involved in the build-up to the first goal but that was the high point of his evening and he rarely troubled Ashley Cole. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Lucas: 4.0 –</b> A display that merely highlighted how badly Javier Mascherano was missed. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Alonso: 6.0 –</b> Was guilty of allowing Ivanovic to escape his attentions for the opener and generally a below par display. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Riera: 5.0 –</b> A disappointed showing, would have been expecting to give Ivanovic a tough evening but he was rarely involved and got little change out of the full-back. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Gerrard: 5.0 –</b> Had a quiet night and when Liverpool needed their inspirational skipper he was nowhere to be found. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Torres: 7.0 – </b>Scored the opener with a lovely finish but had few sights after that.<br /><br /><i style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Substitutes:</i><br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Benayoun: 6.0 –</b> Was the match-winner on the weekend but not tonight. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Dossena: 5.0 - </b> Has scored against Real Madrid and Manchester United as a substitute but made little impact tonight. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Babel: n/a</b><br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">CHELSEA</b><br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Cech: 7.5 – </b>Came and claimed pretty much everything and looked supremely confident all night. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Ivanovic: 9.0 -</b> Replaced Bosingwa and an invaluable contribution, scoring twice with fierce headers whilst looking strong defensively. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Terry: 7.0 –</b> Might have expected a tougher night against Torres but other than a few moments had no real scares. Picked up a booking that will rule him out of the second leg.<br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Alex: 7.5 </b>– Played well alongside Terry and ensured that sights of goal for Liverpool became rarer as the match progressed. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Cole: 7.0 –</b> Had a good night, kept Kuyt quiet and linked well with Malouda to provide real threat down the left. <br /><br /><b style="color: rgb(51, 51, 50); ">Essien: 8.5  – </b>Kept Gerrard incredibly quiet, ensured the Liverpool skipper could not have his usual influence.
